sennin Take the best parts of Agalloch and splice it with Daylight Dies and early Katatonia. "New Inertia" is a great track and combines the best elements of all those bands into a single track. A transcendent and incredible cascadian black metal record. Favorite track: New Inertia.

Madrigal_hjalmar Melody, groove, tremolo for days, fantastic sound. Some of the best music of the year for my taste. Weapons of Refusal from the calm middle to the peak release is pure gold, and the drums and bass coalesce to this driving rhythm that leaves me feeling very hopeful as it fades out. Awesome awesome track, great album as a whole. Favorite track: Weapons of Refusal.

Daniel Blume This band means a lot to me, so allow me to drop some word on this: A sign of the highest and purest art, in my opinion, is the transcendence from the spark that ignited it in the first place - cascadian black metal (or whatever you wanna call it) in that case. FoR are now way beyond their influences; they are unique, a trademark. Grown! Their sound is not for everybody and, by all means, it isn't perfect. But instead of listening to the copy of a copy of a copy of another OSDM band, I'd rather listen to this over and over again! Thank you. *mic drop*

about

The 5th full-length from Falls of Rauros, titled "Patterns in Mythology," is both an expansion upon what was explored on "Vigilance Perennial" and a detour towards another direction entirely. Engineered, mixed, and mastered by Colin Marston at Menegroth, this record became both the heaviest and the most intricately detailed in the band's career without forsaking the foundations the band is built upon; black metal operating in tandem with a melody more often heard in the folk and rock spheres.

Thematically "Patterns in Mythology" touches upon the repeated failures of humanity, the subsequent rejection of human myth, and the uncertainty and vulnerability that follows.
