Lorenzo With a unique sound that is hard to pin down, Geryon's work is complex and layered dissonance. Avant-garde death metal from Nick McMaster and Lev Weinstein of Krallice (though this idea preexists their roles in that band). Technical and proggy is spurts, this is what you could imagine Krallice would be as a death metal band, sans guitars.

In late 2018 and early 2019 both Krallice and Geryon released their own independent EPs digitally via bandcamp and streaming platforms. This split combines those releases together on a physical format for the first time.

"Wolf" by Krallice shows some new tones and moods that have only been hinted at by the band's previous, extensive catalog. Sometimes more abstract and sometimes more atmospheric, "Wolf" is compelling compliment to an already impressive catalog of compositions.

"Astomatous" by Geryon was created by developing material that was originally intended for the never-achieved second album by Astomatous, a project that pre-dates both Krallice and Geryon and also had McMaster and Weinstein at its songwriting core.

"Astomatous" was recorded by Nolan Voss at the Mouth 2.0 (drums and live bass.) Additional bass and vocals recorded by McMaster. All interludes McMaster. Interlude between "Crown of Towers" and "Time's Wheel" as well as outro created from source material by Kelly Moran. Mastered by Colin Marston. Artwork by Brandon Geurts

An excellent blend of black metal and death metal sounds. The whole thing is just a delightfully creepy listen! The dual vocal attack is great. There is a lot of tremolo in the guitar riffs, alternating between low and crushing tones and blistering high tones. Excellent album, beginning to end! klflick1980
